What you can expect from us
Pregnancy and the desire to have children
Thanks to our expertise and experience, we help women who want to have children or who have high-risk pregnancies.
Bleeding tendency
If you have a bleeding tendency, we will analyze your blood coagulation to avoid bleeding complications during operations, injuries or childbirth.
Our focus
We perform examinations to determine whether you are prone to thrombosis (thrombophilia) or obstetric complications. We look for congenital and acquired risk factors of blood coagulation (hemostasis) for venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, phlebitis, early arterial occlusions, miscarriages and other obstetric complications:
- You have previously had thrombosis, a pulmonary embolism, phlebitis, arterial occlusions such as a heart attack, stroke, striae, repeated early or late miscarriages or other complications during pregnancy. We are able to advise you and your referring physicians on how you can reduce the risk of thrombotic or obstetric complications in the future.
- You have a family history. Your parents or siblings or grandparents or your children have already experienced related events or they have or had significant risk factors. We will then examine you for risks and advise you and your referring physicians on how to avoid complications in situations with a temporary risk.
- You want to take hormonal contraceptives or you need hormone replacement therapy or you want to have children. You have a family history of thrombosis or other vascular complications or you are concerned about any complications arising from taking the medication. We will then examine you for risks and advise you and your referring doctors on how to avoid complications.
If you are prone to excessive bleeding or have a wound healing disorder, we will check whether blood clotting disorders (hemorrhagic diatheses) are causing or intensifying the bleeding:
- We will advise you and your referring physicians on how we can prevent severe bleeding during operations, injuries or childbirth.
- Or how to get increased or prolonged menstrual bleeding under control.
This involves more than simply applying “blood thinners” or hemostatic medications.
A number of micronutrients and herbal preparations have proven particularly effective in reducing the risk of obstetric complications and increased bleeding.
