Thrombophilias are risk factors for blood coagulation and vascular occlusions caused by thrombosis and embolism. To prevent or treat these serious diseases, we need to identify the risk factors. This is an especially important step before hormonal contraception, hormone replacement therapy, pregnancy or major surgery.

What we take care of
Determination of risk of developing thrombosis (thrombophilia) or a risk of obstetric complications:
Examinations for congenital and acquired risk factors of blood coagulation (hemostasis) for venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, phlebitis, early arterial vascular occlusions such as coronary heart disease, heart attack, striae, stroke and peripheral arterial occlusive disease, as well as miscarriages and other complications in pregnancy.
- After thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, phlebitis, early arterial occlusions, repeated early or late miscarriages and other obstetric complications
- In the case of a family history of thrombosis, embolism, phlebitis, early arterial occlusion
- Risk of thrombosis due to hormonal contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy, hormone stimulation in assisted reproductive medicine techniques and due to pregnancy
If you are undergoing antithrombotic therapy with “blood thinners” or platelet function inhibitors, we will be happy to assist with temporary care measures for:
- Anticoagulation (blood thinning) before, during and after surgery.
- Prevention or treatment of thrombosis or obstetric complications during pregnancy.
- Unstable anticoagulation (blood thinning)
- Bleeding or the recurrence of thromboembolism under anticoagulants (blood thinners)
